Black Mountain Fat Cat
Drank my very last bottle of Black Mountain Fat Cat tonight. This is a wine that is only available from Trader Joe's. I may have bought this bottle in Cleveland, but it is definitely possible that this 2001 came with me from San Francisco, through Cleveland, and now to Florida.
This is a great wine. If I bought it in Cleveland, it was around $7.99 or $8.99, and if it came from San Francisco, CA, the home of amazingly expensive gasoline, it would have cost me a mere $5.99. This cab tastes like it's an $18 wine from a decent winery in Sonoma.
So, of course, I want to get more, since I am currently unable to afford grabbing a ton of over-priced Napa wines to get that certain over-jammed and fruity California cab taste. I found this thread regarding the origins and common ancestor of the Black Mountain wine.
Get some from Trader Joe's if you can, or find the other stuff from your local shop like me.
